Block Cutting

Continuous foaming plants need an effective cutting machine for portioning slabstock. Here we have the automated block cutter that is designed to follow the slabstock as it moves and cut horizontally across the block. The hardy blade is ideal for foam with higher densities, as well as harder or more rigid foam.

The guillotine-type block cutter cuts in the vertical direction. The cutting head also follows the slabstock through digital programming, and moves at a slightly faster rate than the cross-cutter. The guillotine cutter creates a smooth finish after cutting, so slabstock can go immediately to further conversion without further trimming; this is the ideal block cutter for conventional PU foams.
